Whashton Parish
Whashton is a small parish in North Yorkshire, situated a short distance from the market town of Richmond. It sits in Holmedale, which borders the Yorkshire Dales National Park.
The village is lucky to have beautiful countryside accessible by foot on its doorstep. Our Parish has a wealth of flora and fauna some of which are on the endangered conservation Red Species list.
The map to the left shows the extent of our village owned green which was given to the parish by Major Craddock in 1969.
We are lucky to have this beautiful space and the village works hard to maintain its character and charm.
The map and the top photograph show how integral to village life the green has been over the years.
